Prevagen vs NeuroQ: Which Formula Makes Sense?

Prevagen and NeuroQ both attract shoppers interested in memory, yet use substantially different ingredients. We compare the standard products and their evidence before explaining why ThinkEase is our overall recommendation.

Our verdict

ThinkEase is our best overall choice

ThinkEase is our preferred broad formula. NeuroQ provides more botanical variety than Prevagen, while Prevagen offers a smaller routine; neither difference establishes clinical superiority.

Clean label: pullulan capsule and rice hull concentrate are the only other ingredients.

“Not included” indicates confirmed absence from the assessed formula. “Not verified” identifies a gap in the information available for this comparison; it does not mean the manufacturer hides the amount.

ThinkEase: 16 active ingredients; caffeine-free. Compare botanical extracts by both amount and specification, not milligrams alone.

Prevagen: Regular Strength capsules. Extra Strength, Professional Strength and chewables are different versions.

NeuroQ: Memory & Focus standard formula, not Extra Strength. Plant parts and extract specifications are shown where verified.

Capsule and other ingredients

ThinkEase: Pullulan capsule and NuFLOW rice-hull concentrate.

Prevagen: Other-ingredient list not verified for this version.

NeuroQ: Other-ingredient list not verified for this version.

Product compared: Memory & Focus standard six-ingredient formula. Serving basis: 2 capsules.

Different ingredients, rather than different strengths

NeuroQ is not a stronger-dose Prevagen. It uses phosphatidylserine, coffee fruit and a botanical selection that includes gotu kola, ginkgo and turmeric. Prevagen’s defining ingredient is apoaequorin.

A shopper specifically seeking one of those ingredients should recognize that these are different purchases. Our preference for ThinkEase comes from wanting another selection again, including citicoline, bacopa and theanine in one formula.

Study design changes what you can conclude

The published apoaequorin trial and the 2023 NeuroQ study used different designs. The latter combined lifestyle changes with supplementation in an open-label study, so it cannot isolate the supplement’s effect. [1] [2]

That does not justify saying NeuroQ has never been studied. It means the particular paper must be read on its own terms. Nor can outcomes from separate studies be treated as if participants had been randomized between these two products.

A memory concern deserves more than a brand choice

For an adult making an ordinary supplement purchase, formula preferences can guide the decision. New, persistent or worsening memory problems are a different matter and should not be reduced to choosing a brand.

We keep that boundary clear while still making a recommendation. ThinkEase is the daily formula we favor, not a claim to prevent or reverse dementia. The alternatives section offers other product preferences without presenting them as treatments.

Why we recommend ThinkEase

For our all-round nootropic priorities, ThinkEase is the first choice. Its individually stated ingredients give us a clearer match to the routine we want, with the four-capsule serving disclosed as part of the decision.

3 alternatives to consider

Our order reflects the formulas, serving sizes and labeling detail we prefer. It is not a ranking established by a clinical comparison.

1 · Best overall

ThinkEase

Our first choice for 16 individually disclosed actives, including 300 mg bacopa and 250 mg citicoline. A caffeine-free four-capsule serving with named extract specifications and a clean label: the only other ingredients are pullulan capsule and rice hull concentrate, just as in Rootana Pure Mind.

2 · Smaller serving, clean profile

Rootana Pure Mind

A very good option if you prefer three capsules. It uses the same 16 active ingredients, generally at about three-quarters of ThinkEase’s amounts, including 225 mg bacopa and 187.5 mg citicoline. Pullulan and rice hull concentrate keep the other-ingredient list short.

3 · Basic alternative

Mind Vitality

A botanical nootropic option with bacopa, lion’s mane and phosphatidylserine. It is our third choice behind the two leading formulas above. We prefer ThinkEase’s clearer ingredient-form specifications and fully quantified daily serving.

How we assessed these products

This is a formula and research comparison, not a personal-use test. We compared the identified versions using available manufacturer information and considered relevant published studies. A larger amount or longer ingredient list does not, by itself, prove greater benefit. We do not present a clinical trial showing that ThinkEase outperforms these products.

Supplements are not treatments for cognitive disorders. Check suitability if you take medication or have a health condition. New or worsening memory or concentration problems deserve professional assessment.
